Discover More About A Great Method To Reduce Stress And Anxiety

December 30, 2008 By: admin Category: Anxiety No Comments →

Scientific research confirm that stress and aggravating are responsible in causing and a lot of physical and emotional afflictions. Stress is actually one of our leading health problems today. Many studies during the last years show that a great number of adults feel that they are under a lot of stress. A major part of the number of visits to primary care physicians are related to stress and anxiety.

A majority of people think that their stress situation is depending on their work combined with a modern way of life. Parents have homes, kids and jobs to take care of and that can make the time schedule very tight. The time we all need to relax is practically not to be found. Stress levels have also increased for others, like children and senior citizens. Many retired persons refer to the threats to personal safety and social isolation and loneliness.

Science has shown that stress contributes to conditions like back and neck pain, diabetes, ulcers, strokes and heart attacks etcetera. Stress can also be responsible for depression and anxiety and it has many impacts on one’s organs. You can be sure that our mind is the first reason for our experience of stress, depression and anxiety.

So what we think about and our attitudes dictate what we feel. Here is also a possibility for us to make a change to the situation as we experience it. If we can manage to alter our attitudes and thoughts, then we can be relieved of our feelings of anxiety and stress. We can be relieved of depression and we can make a change of the situations we are uncomfortable with.

The pharmaceutical industry produces pills as one way to solve a vast number medical related problems. Today it seems to be a pill for almost everything. The down-side of drugs are the side effects so if you utilize drugs for relief, make sure that you read the fine print and learn about the side effects. They are usually dependency and addiction. With drugs we usually treat the symptoms and not the causes.

To eliminate tension, anxiety, stress and depression in a natural way we can work on the actual causes and those are generally in the way we think. How do we make changes in the way we think? The answer to that is with help of hypnosis which actually is all about relaxing. Fifty years ago it was recognised that hypnosis is efficient to treat stress and an excellent anxiety therapy. Compared to drugs, there are no undesirable side effects and hypnosis can be used to treat a whole range of problem areas.

Hypnosis is about consciousness and there are several ways that we can guide ourselves into a relaxed mood. From visual imagery to progressive relaxation to listening to hypnosis tapes or cd’s. That means that we don’t need to meet a hypnotherapist live to get access to these methods.

In the hypnotic state we can interact with our unconscious mind and in that way get hold of our emotions. It is then easier accept new points of view and ideas and thereby find help to get rid of anxiety and stress, even avoid it in the first place.

It is a fact that stress, anxiety and depression can be and usually are triggered by our thoughts. Thanks to hypnosis we can change our attitudes and points of view towards our situation so we can get rid of these feelings at the root. Even if hypnosis and the methods involved by laymenare regarded as mystic and just for special persons it is really a natural tool that make it possible for us to change and get rid of the source of any negative feelings.

How To Deal With Panic Attacks

December 08, 2008 By: admin Category: Anxiety No Comments →

Panic attacks are something you may face, but do you know how to cope with panic attacks? Most people do not and that is where the problem lies. A panic attack is a condition in which severe symptoms of anxiety occur in the body and will last any place from a few minutes to several hours. These fears are usually unfounded, too.

Panic attacks are an exaggerated condition due to fear. While some fear is healthy, in panic attacks there is an overwhelming amount of fear. The panic attack can come into our lives with no warning at all. There may be no logical reason why we can get into a state of panic, however once a panic attack occurs it is very intense and there is nothing that we can do about it.

Several physical symptoms of panic attacks can be identified which include heart racing, pounding or skipping heartbeat, tightness or discomfort in chest region, choking sensation, sweatiness, shaking and trembling, butterflies and nausea, hot flashes or chills, numbness in certain parts of the body, erratic breathing or shortness of breath, dizziness, light-headedness and so forth. The psychological emotions felt by these victims can be very damaging and frightening that they, who suffer panic attacks, can feel that they are dying or losing their minds. Things seem unreal to them or may even feel that they are detached from their bodies while some are so fearful that they must escape and flee the situation altogether.

In fact, the symptoms mentioned above are the sensations and feelings that one experiences whenever they are facing impending threats or dangers. As reinstated earlier, these symptoms occur to sufferers of panic attacks in circumstances without presence of danger even in safe environment and under no logical explanation. There is no surprise at all that the panic attack can occur even when the victim is at sleep.

Panic attacks cannot or difficult to stop when it attacks and they normally happen without any potential signals or predictions. This is because the excessive level of hormones imbalances and adrenalines that flood the body and muscles causes such extreme terror and desperation that are so beyond the grasp of the actual situation. It is therefore not only necessary but compulsory to attempt to control the exaggerated emotions of fear using different appropriate means of treatments.

The suffering of panic attacks is very dreadful and agonizing according to many victims of the panic attacks. The feelings of extreme fear and overwhelming terror are very intense that they feel like eternity once the attack starts to kick in.

The first clue someone experiencing a panic attack often encounters is the feeling of a frightening attack during specific situations. A panic attack is not a physical condition, therefore your doctor may have had trouble making a diagnosis.

Many people don’t know what agoraphobia is. To where they could become exposed to panic attacks, this is a condition where an individual doesn’t wish to go places or face situations. The nature of the debilitating condition is known by the very word agoraphobia itself. The word ‘Agora’ is Greek in origin, and means “marketplace” or “place where people meet”. To have a ‘phobia’ is to suffer from a fear of something As such, it is understandable how people suffering from agoraphobia fear being in crowded spaces.

Agoraphobia is a condition that develops gradually. In general it occurs after a panic attack. You may be unknowingly preparing for a second attack and the symptoms leaving you helpless after your first attack It can cause you to change your entire lifestyle just to avoid thowe feelings of terror, if this cycle of panic attack and impending panic attack. When trying to determine what causes panic attacks, many people associate the first place they felt helpless as the reason for their terror.

Breakthrough Ideas On How To Deal With Panic Attack

November 29, 2008 By: admin Category: Anxiety No Comments →

Every human feels anxiety on occasion; it is a part of life. All of us know what it is like to feel worry, nervousness, fear, and concern. We feel nervous when we have to give a speech, go for a job interview, or walk into our boss’s office for the annual performance appraisal. We know it’s normal to feel a surge of fear when we unexpectedly see a photo of a snake or look down from the top of a tall building. Most of us manage these kinds of anxious feelings fairly well and are able to carry on with our lives without much difficulty. These feelings don’t disrupt our lives.

But millions of people (an estimated 15% of the population) suffer from devastating and constant anxiety that severely affects their lives, sometimes resulting in living in highly restricted ways. These people experience panic attacks, phobias, extreme shyness, obsessive thoughts, and compulsive behaviors. The feeling of anxiety is a constant and dominating force that disrupts their lives. Some become prisoners in their own homes, unable to leave to work, drive, or visit the grocery store. For these people, anxiety is much more than just an occasional wave of apprehension. Joe Barry’s panic away review will guide you enormously! Because it is about stopping the fear, once that is done, you will be panic free.

Unfortunately, much of the help offered to people struggling with this today is simply not what they need. Quite often, doctors and psychiatrists will prescribe a drug or some form of medication that will only mask the problem. Dulling the senses will help cover the symptoms, but does not actually attack the root problem and can sometimes result in an addiction. Furthermore, much of the therapy offered will only help people handle anxiety attacks when they come. This is not the answer. There are feasible solutions that eliminate attacks, not just teach people to cope when they come.

Anxiety Treatments: Herbal Supplements Versus Modern Medications

November 19, 2008 By: admin Category: Anxiety No Comments →

Do you suffer from anxiety? Then you certainly don’t need something else to worry about. Sadly, the side effects associated with medication and other forms of treatment are very often alarming. As an alternative, many patients are giving serious consideration to more natural approaches to preventing panics because they believe them to be safer – if not more effective.

Remember: Herbal does not automatically mean mean better. The active ingredients in herbal remedies are chemicals. These affect your body and can react with other drugs you may be taking. You should consult your physician to find out what the best options for you are.

With these cautions in place, however, natural treatments are a serious alternative. Using vitamins, herbs, supplements, and simple dietary adjustments can be very effective. In many cases, sufferers find them even more effective than more traditional medications.

For example, an herb commonly used is dandelion. Its leaves and roots contain B vitamins and are used in supplements to support overall body health. Thiamine, riboflavin, and other B vitamins can promote better mental function. As a side effect, dandelion may provide some relief from anxiety. While sometimes used in salads, dandelion is usually steeped in hot water making an infusion, or “tea.”

Another common herb is chamomile, which is used in sleep-inducing potions. It has also been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety. As with dandelion, dried chamomile flowers are steeped to make a sweet tea. It is also known to reduce fever, elevate mood, and enhance metabolism.

To get the best use of any herb, the quality of the ingredients is very important; do not use herbs that are not pharmaceutical grade. Meeting this standard means the plants have been studied at the molecular level and that their quality is monitored by proper authorities. You are placing your health in the hands of the person or business from which you purchase your remedies; be careful. Given proper quality oversight by the proper authorities, you can be rest assured that you know exactly what you are putting in your body.

Natural herbs are not witchcraft; they have been used by millions of people for centuries. As long as you consult with your physician first and purchase your herbs from a reputable source, these supplements can be an attractive option to patients concerned about the safety of new-fangled drugs. Many find this gives them a greater peace of mind.

Himalayan Goji Juice and Anxiety

July 16, 2008 By: admin Category: Anxiety, GoChi No Comments →

Fear and anxiety are an unavoidable part of life (Unless you drink Himalayan Goji Juice or GoChi ;). You may feel anxious before a dental appointment, or when you’re walking alone down a dark street. This kind of anxiety is useful - it can make you more alert or careful. It usually ends soon after you are out of the situation that caused it. But for millions of people around the world, the anxiety does not go away, and it can even get worse over time, with symptoms such as chest pains or nightmares. Some may even be afraid to leave home. These people have anxiety disorders. Here’s how to recognize the differences between normal anxiety and anxiety disorders, courtesy of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America:

Normal Anxiety

Anxiety Disorder

Occasional worry about circumstantial events that may leave you upset, such as financial worries, family problems, or traffic jams Constant, chronic, and unsubstantiated worry that causes significant distress, disturbs your social life, and interferes with work
Embarrassment or self-consciousness in the face of uncomfortable social situations Avoidance of common social situations for fear of being judged, embarrassed, or humiliated
Random case of “nerves” or jitters, dizziness, and/or sweating over an important event like an exam, job interview, or oral presentation Repeated, random panic attacks or persistent worry/anticipation of another panic attack and feelings of terror or impending doom
Realistic fear of a threatening object, place, or situation Irrational fear or avoidance of an object, place, or situation that poses little or no threat of danger
Wanting to be sure that you are healthy and living in a safe, hazard-free environment Performing uncontrollable, repetitive actions, such as washing your hands repeatedly or checking things over and over
Anxiety, sadness, or difficulty sleeping immediately following a traumatic event Ongoing and recurring nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional numbing relating to a traumatic event in your life that occurred several months or years ago

If you can relate to any of the anxiety disorder symptoms, you may want to talk to someone who is professionally qualified to help. For normal anxiety, the following strategies will also help you to stay calm:

  • Exercise. Physical activity helps your body and mind. It doesn’t matter whether you jog, work out, play tennis, or go for a walk. Just get off the couch and get moving!
  • Eat a balanced diet. Don’t skip meals, and try to eat from all of the food groups.
  • Limit alcohol and stimulant use. Alcohol can aggravate anxiety and can also cause panic attacks, and too much caffeine can do the same as well.
  • Get involved. Being active in your church or community creates a support network and gives you a break from your everyday stress.
  • Do your best instead of trying to be perfect. We all know perfection isn’t possible, so be proud of however close you get.
  • Take a timeout. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, just take a deep breath and count to 10. Stepping back from the problem lets you clear your head. Practicing meditation, listening to soothing music, or getting a relaxing massage are great ways to calm down.
  • Put things in perspective. Think about your situation. Ask yourself whether it’s really as bad as you think it is or if you might be blowing it out of proportion.
  • Talk to someone. Don’t let things bottle up to the verge of explosion. Reach out to trusted friends or family if you’re feeling low.
  • Find out what triggers your anxiety. Take notes or write in a journal when you’re feeling anxious or stressed, and then look for patterns.
  • Drink 4 ounces (120 ml) of GoChi every day!
